Abstract:Powered by explosion of computer power, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a cornerstone of innovation, reshaping industries, and altering the fabric of our daily lives. In this talk, we briefly recount the history of statistics as a discipline, and identify the new challenges and opportunities in this information age. We illustrate the relevance and usefulness of statistics in solving complex data analytic problems by example.
