Abstract：In this talk, I will present the existence result (joint with Paul Federbushand Joel Smoller)  of magnetic star solutions which are axi-symmetric stationary  solutions  for the Euler-Poisson system of compressible fluids coupled to a magnetic field based on a variational approach.  Some related problems will also be discussed.
