Abstract：In this talk, we consider the degenerate nonlinear partial differential equations or systems. Firstly, we discuss degenerate nonlinear elliptic equations arising from analysis on manifold with singularities. We give the motivation of the degenerate operators, establish the corresponding weighted Sobolev spaces, then the variation methods are applied to verify the existence results. Secondly, we study the degenerate nonlinear PDE systems arising from the mean field games, where the generic player may have a forbidden direction at some point. Here we prove the existence and uniqueness for the PDE systems, which describe the Nash equilibria in the games.
